The F1 Sidecar
  • is faster on both acceleration and top speed

2011 SEASON PREVIEW

For the 2011 season Kershaw Racing are taking on a new challenge. The team has moved onto a Formula 1, which is a bigger and longer sidecar with a 1000cc engine. The outfit uses a GSXR Suzuki engine and is just 2 inches off the ground and capable of speeds up to 170mph.
The team will be competing in the Eastern Airways Formula 1 British Championship. This is a highly competitive championship (with two world champions, countless British champions competing) is certainly the place to race. The Championship consists of 16 rounds at race tracks all over the country including Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Silverstone and a trip to Ireland to Mondello Park. Four of the meetings will be run alongside the British Super Bike championship a professionally run championship with crowds in the region of 30 thousand. The complete championship will be fully televised on Eurosport with live races, highlights and team interviews.
Kershaw Racing will also be competing in the North East F1 Club Championship which has rounds at Croft, East Fortune and Knockhill. The duo were North East F2 Club Champions back in 2009 and are looking to win titles in both classes.
Achievements for the year, Steve's quotes "Take it as it comes, first things first, learn how to control and handle the new bike, don't do anything silly and I'm sure the results will follow."
