After a quick search an LCR F2 - powered by a Suzuki 600cc engine - was found and the preparation work began. You can keep up with the '08 season in the 'News' page. |

| Stephen Kershaw, DOB 23/02/87, 6ft 1ins tall, 11.8 stone,
I started racing in 2003 on a 250cc Ducati Monza - because the age to drive sidecar drivers is 17! I just did few races on the Duke, no championships tho'. In 2004 I rode Dad's 1956 Triumph Thunderbird "big wheeler" 650cc (ex. Owen Greenwood). We did a few meetings in Scotland at East Fortune and Edzell to see if I enjoyed it. Decided I did very much enjoy it as it is in the blood as my Dad, with Mum in the chair, were very good when they raced. So I planned to do the VMCC big wheeler championship the following year, 2005. Having used my brother as a passenger we decided to ask my good friend Robin Wilson if he would be passenger as mother didn't want both boys on one bike - must be a Mum thing! After a family discussion we decided we needed a strong reliable engine with more power if we were committing to the miles ahead of us. We had a brand new 1956 750cc built by John Lees and had a great year racing at all the great tracks in England, Cadwell, Lydden, Mallory etc., finishing 5th in the Fenni Transport sponsored big wheeler class and 6th in the Champions of Champions. At the end of season we decided F2 was the way to go and we bought the bike from Richard Holdsworth - now a good friend - and decided to do the Scottish Championship as a learning year as there are less outfits and more track space plus less travelling miles! |
